Cable Corporation Ltd (CCL) in Lugazi, Uganda was incorporated in May 1968 under full ownership of the Mehta Group Ltd.
The Company carried out a major expansion in 1969 and was taken over by the Government of Uganda with directive and nationalized in 1974 through 1980. In 1980, the running of the Company was handed over to the Mehta Group. The Company was later privatized in November 2009 and is now fully owned by the Mehta Group.
Cable Corporation Limited - Cable Division was set up with technical collaboration from Sumitomo Electrical Industries, Japan and manufactures low voltage power cables, domestic cables, flexible cables, overhead conductors, earth wires and stay wires. All the products manufactured by CCL are conforming to International standards and Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and is supervised by very well trained and experienced personnel. It also has a well- equipped laboratory and maintains a high profile for its quality products.

- LV PVC Power Cables – Copper and Aluminium (as per UNBS - US 601 equivalent to BS 6346:1997)
- House Wire Cables - Domestic and Building Cables (as per UNBS - US 602 equivalent to BS -6004:2012)
- Flexible Cables (as per UNBS equivalent to BS -6500:)
- Solidal Cables (as per UNBS as per IEC -60502-1)
- Low Voltage Aerial Bundled Cables (as per UNBS equivalent to IEC – 60502-1)
- Over Head Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) /All Aluminium Alloy Conductors(AAAC) (as per UNBS equivalent to BS 215 / BS 3242 / IEC 61089)
- We can also make cables and conductors as per Customer specific requirements.
UGMA Engineering Corporation was merged with Cable Corporation in 2011, which enables the company to provide foundry and workshop products and services to its clients.
Engineering Division products
- High precision castings in manganese steel, high chrome steel, nickel alloys, gun metal and cast and ductile iron. We have made single castings in iron up to 12 MT and in steels of up to 3 MT
- Repairs and maintenance of castings, machines and wear parts of up to 14 MT single piece for all the above industries
